Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, is a singer-songwriter and Canadian American. Her catalog includes more than 20 albums. Her music is classified as folk and alternative rock but includes influences from punk funk hip music and jazz. The widely regarded feminist icon Grammy award winner Ani DiFranco is the mother of the DIY movement and is among the first artists to create her own label 1990. The parents of DiFranco, Elizabeth (Ross), a ex-student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each one another while both attending.
