
Carrie-Anne Moss was born August 21, 1967 [1] and is a Canadian actor. After her initial roles on television her name was brought to fame internationally for her portrayal of Trinity in The Matrix series (1999-present). She has starred in Memento (2000) for which she was awarded the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female, Red Planet (2000), Chocolat (2000), Fido (2006), Snow Cake (2006) for which she was awarded the Genie Award for Best Performance by an actress in a Supporting Role, Disturbia (2007), Unthinkable (2010), Silent Hill: Revelation (2012) and Pompeii (2014). Jessica Jones (2015) to 2019 was her most recent TV series. She also appeared in Jeri Hogarth. Moss was living in Spain when she was approached for the part of Tara judge Nicholas Marshall's clerk in the drama series Dark Justice. This was her first TV appearance. With the series, she moved from Barcelona to Los Angeles in 1992. Moss was forced to quit Dark Justice after the third season as well as the last. Elisa Heinsohn replaced her as Samantha "Sam". She was enrolled in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena following her return and then she was a part of Fox's soap opera in primetime Models Inc., a spin-off of Melrose Place, as a model. The series was cancelled on July 1995. Matrix was a short-lived made in Canada series. The 1990s were a time when she was an actor in numerous television shows including Street Justice and Baywatch. Also, she appeared in F/X: The Series and Due South. Due South received her a nomination for the Gemini Award for Best Guest Actress in a drama. Her film credits included numerous B films including Flashfire (1994), The Soft Kill (94), Tough Guy (94), Lethal Tender (1996), Sabotage (191996) and The Secret Life of Algernon (1997).
